Such creasing or embossing tools are known. These known creasing and embossing tools have, inter alia, a planar working section running perpendicular to the longitudinal center plane. It has been found here that these creasing and embossing tools have a shortened service life, which is due to increased abrasion. The present invention is based on the object of improving the known creasing and embossing tools of the type described above in such a way that reduced abrasion and thus a longer service life are achieved. According to the invention this is achieved by the features of claim 1 in that the embossed edge is formed by a planar, perpendicular to the longitudinal center plane working section which merges at its longitudinal edges over an outwardly curved rounded area in the side surface of the tip. A sharp-edged transition between the working section and the side surfaces of the tip is thus avoided, so that less material deformation occurs in the area of the working section. The resulting reduced wear in the area of the working section enables a longer service life. According to the invention it is advantageous if the working section has a width of 0.015 mm to 0.03 mm, preferably 0.017 mm. The radius of the rounding of the two rounding areas is preferably 0.026 mm to 0.036 mm, the center point being on the longitudinal center plane. An interior angle enclosed by the side surfaces of the tip is preferably 15 ° to 90 °, in particular 15 ° to 70 ° and preferably 52 ° to 54 °. In particular, the interior angle can be less than or equal to 42 °. The tip is advantageously designed as a similar or isosceles triangle, specifically with respect to a section perpendicular to the longitudinal center plane. The base body 1 has a grooved or embossed edge 4 on one of its longitudinal edges 2, 3, which extends at least over the entire length of the base body 1. The creased or embossed edge 4 is designed in cross section as a triangular point 5, wherein the point 5 can be designed as an isosceles or equilateral triangle. The creased or embossed edge 4 is formed by a planar working section 6 running perpendicular to the longitudinal center plane X-X, as can be seen from FIG. This working section 6 merges into the side surfaces 8, 9 formed by the tip 5 via rounded areas 7 that are curved outward. The working section 6 preferably has a width of 0.015 mm to 0.03 mm, preferably 0.017 mm. The two rounded areas 7 are rounded with a radius r of 0.026 mm to 0.036 mm, based on a center point M lying on the longitudinal center plane X-X.
